Firm Wide Outing - Yogyakarta

Hi guys it is so long time no post anything. Been busy lately and lack of sleep. But yeah here I am again telling you about the things done in my life since my last post.

In August, my company held the annual event and this year it took place in Yogyakarta.
I went there on 15-17 August 2016 by Garuda Indonesia and returned by Sriwijaya Airlines.
Soon after the HR announced that we will go to Yogyakarta, I and some of my friends booked the flight. Fortunately we got the cheap air fare so we ended up our choice on those two giant, trusted airlines in Indonesia.
The flight was so early, at 5.25 am. It means that I should wake up at 3 and go to the airport at 3.30. Thank God I could wake up on time even though I just got 3 hours of sleeping.
I went by taxi to Terminal 3, the new terminal in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. I have to admit that the architecture was way different from the other 2 terminals they have. It is nice but the airport was not ready yet and the lighting was poor. They really need a better light consultant though.

In short, we flew and arrived at Adisucipto International Airport. The air trip took 1 hour and 15 minutes. It was still early morning when we arrived and like there were no shops or food already opened. We went to Candi Borobudur (Borobudur Temple) and along the trip stopped by Jejamuran Resto to have brunch. The resto was not ready yet, just 4 menus available because we came so early (almost 8 am at that time). So we had no choice but ordered the whole 4 menus. They were: satay mushroom, mushroom with padang sauce, fried mushroom, and omelette mushroom.
Too bad I did not take photo of the food, we just took photo of our team.

Food Review is available on my food blog: menuxvenue.blogspot.com SOON! lol :)

We continued our trip to Borobudur. It took almost 2 hours to get there.
But the view worth the waits. From Borobudur you can see green surround, which you may not see in the city.
The temple itself is amazing. I mean, it was built in 750 AD but the architecture was somehow unbelievable for the people lived on those days to think. Though, it has some restorations in 1975 – 1982 by the government of Indonesia and UNESCO, and was published as the World Heritage Site. No wonder it was count as one of the 7 wonders in the world until 7 July 2007. You may take a look on Why Borobudur is No Longer 7 Wonders.

Actually this was the first time I went to Borobudur, so I was quite excited. But Borobudur surely needs a lot to improve if the government wants to not only increase the number of tourists here but also to make it more beautiful, more tidy and inspire people. Such things are, they need to curb the salesmen in Borobudur. It was pretty serious I think since there were many salesmen on the street selling the Yogyakarta merchandise including the miniature of the temple itself as we walked down from the temple. I thought like there were no shops here so the salesmen were on the street, BUT, there were also merchandise shops if we continued walking to the exit gate. The shops rather be like traditional market, with the tents they have. I could imagine it would be so much better if the government budgeting the people money to build a merchandise shop here, you know, with the Air Conditioner inside etc. But back again, this is Indonesia. It seems to take 20 more years to see merchandise shop like that in Borobudur :)

Borobudur Trip was over by 11.30 o’clock. We went to the hotel to have our lunch and the Firm’s activities began.

It was sooo tiring day because first I just got 3 hours sleeping and had to do the non-stop activities until 10 pm. But since I love experiencing anything I’ve never been before, I felt happy of course! :)

Here is our photo in Borobudur :)
