Too Faced Chocolate Bar Review

I had been thinking so hard about what eyeshadow I should have bought. My choice is between Too Faced Chocolate Bar or Naked 1. After a deliberation, my choice fell to Too Faced Chocolate Bar. Simply because there is another color like pink and purple in it.

It claims to have a chocolate smell, well, it’s not pure chocolate smell and more like artificial fragrance. It smells like a chemical pretending to be chocolate. Lol.
The shades are vary and just like the name, it is mostly chocolate shades.

I love the texture, it’s creamy and well pigmented. Some colors like Cherry Cordial and Strawberry Bon-Bon, which I thought would be pinky, turned out quite disappointing. Cherry Cordial is more brown-ish than Cherry-ish. While Strawberry Bon-Bon doesn’t pop its color, perhaps it is a very very very light pink so you just can’t see the difference between the eye that wears it or not.

The rest of colors are fine and useful, not only for daily look, but also for party look.
Darker colors tend to be more pigmented you just have a small amount to put on your eyelids J

The cover is not firm enough it can easily opened. It’s good to carry for travelling on your hand carry and doesn’t leave many powder to fall even after a shaking circumstance because the texture is creamy.

Pixy BB Cream Review

Today I’m gonna review another product from Pixy. As you might have known, I got a lot of products from Pixy, so I will review it one by one.
The topic today is Pixy’s BB cream! It is available in 3 shades:
-          Beige
-          Cream
-          Ochre

Pixy descriprion from Pixy web

I got the shade Cream and Beige.

The beige shade is more like brown-ish yellow-ish, which is actually one tone under mine. But it is not too obvious once I apply powder over it. My shade is Cream.

The texture is great, not too dilute or thick. The coverage is medium, I am pretty amazed how it can cover my reddish well. But for my eye bags, it surely needs concealer to get it fully covered. It also locks the makeup over it and long lasting. I wore it for 5 hours and still looked good on my face J

The disclaimer states that it doesn’t trigger blackheads, maybe it’s true, but my sensitive skin reacts by emerging purges all over my face (not blackheads). It happens every time I wear foundation or something like that (BB, CC, tinted moisturizer), as a sign of rejection to the products. This is not happening to everyone, you have to trial and error to know the makeup (skincare) products that suit to your skin. I got to say that this BB cream is great for daily use. You can wear powder to the top of it if you have oily skin, but if you are lazy to wear powder, it’s ok too! Because it is BB cream, it is light to your face.

Pixy Nude Lip Cream Review

Hi guys! As you have known before, I joined the Pixy Asian Beauty Trip event, therefore, the contestants got some gifts. And nowww, I’m gonna review Pixy’s new Lip Cream!
I am so excited because their lip cream is my most favorite Pixy product! :D
So, Pixy launched new shades of their lip creams couple months a go.
They are:

7. Vintage Rose
8. Delicate Pink
9. Glam Coral
10. Sweet Choco
11. Gaudy Orange
12. Mild Peach

They are all matte. Trust me, these shades are gorgeous! You just have to pick any one of your fav shade.
The texture is smooth and not sticky on the lips. It dries just a few seconds and you will feel like you don’t wear any lipstick on because it is sooo light on the lips J Plus, not only waterproof, it also transfer proof and long lasting.
You don’t have to put on much, just one stick can cover all your lips so it is not wasteful <3
As I said before, I love all the shades :D

You can see the swatches below.

Lombok Trip Day 4

This is the last day of our vacation in Lombok L so in this last day, we decided to try Lombok’s famous culinary, buy some souvenirs, and visit to Taman Narmada.
We ate lunch at Dua Em, having their famous Ayam Taliwang. It was great but the chicken was too small.

We continued our journey to Taman Narmada. Taman Narmada was once a castle. King of Bali lived here thousand times a go to take over Lombok, but didn’t succeed. This place is now a tourist attraction and open for public. When we arrived, there was an old man welcomed us, offer to tell us the history of this place (like a guide). We accepted the offer, but after we finished down the whole park, he asked IDR 50,000 to my friend. I didn’t notice at that time because I was busy buying some souvenirs. When my friend told me that she gave him IDR 50,000. I told her it supposed to be a lot cheaper than that. But nothing we could do. He already left.

So guys, if you wanted to use a guide here, well, I don’t recommend it as you can google the history of this park FOR FREE.
Our driver gave us option to learn weave. He took us to Desa Patuh, a village in Mataram, 30 mins away from airport. The patient women taught us and guess what? It’s free! You can also learning by doing.

me learning to weave

Weaving is a livelihood of these locals. There are also lots of woven fabric here which you can buy here, but since the price was more expensive than the ones in the souvenir shop, none of us bought it.

The clock was ticking and we didn’t want to miss our airplane so we were heading to the airport. Oh before that, we fed our stomach worms by having Nasi Balap Puyung again. I think we already addicted to this food :p

Pixy Asian Beauty Trip 2017

Seeing my name on the top 10 list of Pixy Asian beauty Trip really surprised me. I was stunt for a minute, make sure that it was really me on the list. What I can say is.. I was soooo happy and excited! Yeayy!!
So, I got to tell you about this amazing event named Pixy Asian Beauty Trip. At first, I was browsing on internet and suddenly this Pixy pop up ad emerged. I was curious about this event so I opened the ad. This is the TnC.. Pixy collaborate with Dreamco.id, first, they pick 50 semi finalists, and after that they pick 10 finalists based on the tutorial Pixy video that we made. These 10 finalists were invited to the grand final session in Jakarta. Of course all accommodation including flight for those who live outside Jakarta were paid by Pixy and Dreamco.id.

I was interested because the prize is a trip that I dreamt of. It was trip to Japan! Wow.. When applying, you just have to upload your best photo on the website, and write an essay about what you think of Asian Beauty. I did everything they asked but didn’t expect to be selected to the next process because I got so many beautiful competitors. But I think God says the opposite. I passed to the next 50 semi finalists. On this stage, we had to upload the Pixy tutorial video in Instagram with 30 seconds duration. (check on my ig) I was looking for the pixy cosmetics everywhere and finally bought it online because I was busy during that week that I didn’t have time to look for it from store to store.
After I uploaded it, I also didn’t expect to get to next stage, I just hope for it but not optimist. Once again, if it really your fate, nothing can even stop you to get it. I was chosen as one of 10 finalists! I couldn’t be happier! The judging was held on 16 September 2017 and they gave us 1 night stay on 15 September 2017 at Fave Hotel Melawai after technical meeting. We were told to bring the dress code Smart Casual to be worn on the judging. (You can see my outfit in the photo below J )

The judging was held at XXI Lounge Plaza Senayan. There were many medias and beauty bloggers invited. They said the event would be published on some national tv airs and print medias.
The judging included makeup challenge and QnA. Actually the QnA was just 1 question from a judge, but somehow it still made us nervous. I ended up thinking a bit longer on stage which of course reduce my score.

Pixy makeup challenge

I didn’t win but I got precious experience, friends, and also Pixy products. I think this event is great for the girls who love makeup and beauty to funneling their passions :D

This is the 3rd time of Pixy Asian Beauty Trip. The winners will go to Japan for 4 days 3 nights. So girls, why don’t you try it next year? J
the 13 of us (3 from EYTB)

Here we got a box of beauty hampers. all PIXY products yeay!
(the scarf is a bonus!)

H2O+ Whitening Toner

After my acnes decreased significantly, I determined not to use any medicine for my face. Besides, I would like to try skin care products to maintain or even make my face brighter and smooth.
I have tried some skin cares but the one I am gonna review now is H2O+ whitening toner (grey bottle).
I have been searching for the proper toner before because my skin is sensitive and allergic to alcohol, but this toner suits my skin. (yeayy!)
I used this toner after I washed my face by pour it into the facial cotton and then just swipe all over my face. Remember to avoid the eyes area.
The result is, it is good to help lifting the rest of the dirt that can’t be lifted by your facial wash.
You can see the cotton becomes yellow (because of face oil) or grey (because of dust) after you use it.
For whitening effect I don’t think it impacts to me.
The price is reasonable though since it comes with large bottle (…ml)
What I like most about this product is it does not cause purge on my skin J

H2O+ Whitening toner
Price: Rp 230,000

Re-purchase? Yes, but the counters are far from my home so currently I am trying another toner (read my review here)

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

2 years ago, right after I got my first job, for the first time I was experiencing what the most employees feel. I always arrived home at night that I did not want to do anything but take a shower and sleep. Reminding that girls have their night-skin care-routines, I really wanted to skip the face mask routine every time it was my mask schedule. I thought that it would be amazing if there was night mask that I do not have to wait for it to dry in 20 mins and rinse my face after that, because really, I can sleep more than just waiting for it to dry.

A year later, a Beauty Company in Korea launched my dream product. Laneige Water Sleeping Mask was created for girls like me, who are in tight schedule that has no time for masking time. Yeay!
I bought the product as soon as it was launched.
The texture is like a gel, which is good for oily skin like me. Smell is good, since I heard that Laneige adds perfume on it.

So what you have to do to apply it is just wash your face with your face soap, and use toner after your face dry, then simply take some of the mask’s gel and apply all over your face and leave it to sleep. I can say it’s just like using a moisturizer, very simple and do not waste your time. After you wake up in the next morning, just do your daily skin care by washing your face first.
Honestly, I have been using it for approximately a year, twice a week. I did not find any difference like most people said. People say that the next morning they feel their face really dewy and moist like baby’s skin, but it did not apply for me.

I keep using it until mine runs out, just to hydrate my skin and because I did not find other similar product to keep my night skin care routine be efficient. Besides, the price is affordable though.

Any of your recommendation for another Sleeping Mask? I would be excited to try J

Lombok Trip Day 3– Gili Meno and Trawangan

We woke up really early today because we wanted to catch sunrise in Gili Meno. Started to go at 5 am to Teluk Nara. The trip took for half an hour. Then we used Nara Speedboat to cross the sea. The sun rise and we got chance to capture its beauty. In Gili Meno, there were several inns that facing the sea. It seemed so comfortable. Maybe one day I will stay there on vacay :D

Local's House

A hotel's facility in Gili Meno

Being on Gili, the first thing to do that crossed your mind should be snorkeling! Yupp. We were looking for it but the snorkeling rental were already full. We were walking around the island, looking for something nice. The locals told us to go to the lake. But it was far, and the sun shined really bright at that moment. There were some shits along the way. Eventually we arrived at the lake exhaustedly. The lake was disappointing, it was not good at all if you see it directly, but the photo seems nice. Lol.

Lake in Gili Meno

After we saw the lake, then we decided to move to Gili Trawangan because there was nothing to do in Gili Meno. We walked again with the left energy, and found Bounty Harbour. We rent private boat there. It cost us IDR 320k a boat, after a long negotiation. Their opening price was IDR 400k.
What I learnt in Lombok was, you should make a bid for anything you can bid. Their opening price were not make sense.
Annnddd finally we arrived at Gili Trawangan! Yeay! We could see crowds on the harbor from our boat. They are people who wanted to cross to Bali. Most of the tourists were western. You can see many bean bags along the beach, many western restaurants and hotels. It was very crowd. There was no motor vehicle on the island. Instead, they use Andong (horse with a vessel beyond), bicycle, and horse.
We had lunch at Black Penny Resto. The price is quite expensive maybe because most of the visitors are western. The waitress/waiters are impolite to Indonesian, but very friendly to western tourists. We waited for ages just to ask for menu book and make an order because they didn’t come by our table even after we called them hundred times, but when a western came, waitress immediately serve them and recorded their orders. We came first but had no one came to our table even after the westerns after us made order. I don’t recommend this venue for Indonesian. I mean, I also pay, it’s not that I beg the waitress for some money! This venue sucks.
I left the venue while cursing it. But the air and view of Gili Trawangan reminded me that I’m on vacation, why should a moment ruin my vacation?

We decided to rent bikes which have basket in front of it. We found in a mini market. The owner was an old man. Price is IDR 50,000 all day. It’s fair enough so we didn’t make any bargain.
The thing is, the last time I rid a bike was 8 years a go! But confidently, I said that I can ride a bicycle. Unfortunately, my body didn’t remember how to ride bike. This led to an overwhelming activity. The vehicle I thought can save my time and energy to sightseeing the island turned opposite L I was so tired and the weather was so damn hot! “Why can’t the weather be like this yesterday? Why should now?!” I whispered in my heart. Thanks to my boyfriend he always waited for me while cycling J He stopped when I stopped and faithfully waited for me to ride the bike again. We stopped by a cozy cafĂ© named The Exile. This cafĂ© was located on the edge of the beach, before Pandawa Beach. Nothing much we did in Gili Trawangan, just riding our bikes while enjoying the beach view, drank so much water, and finally my main purpose came. It was sunset. We perpetuated this beautiful view at Pandawa Beach with the iconic swing on the water <3
the famous swings

sunset in Pandawa beach

Not to forget to return the bike, we then had our dinner at fish market in the harbor. I ordered 5 chicken satays, 1 squid satay, chilly shredded chicken, and steamed rice just for IDR 45,000. Ah I love this place lol :D

We then had our dinner at fish (night?) market. The prices were sooo affordable a.k.a CHEAP! I had 5 chicken satays + 1 squid satay + chili shredded chicken + steamed rice for only IDR 45,000 and it tasted so damn good!

fish market near the harbour

Already satisfied with the island, we then called our boat to pick us up.

For you guys who are curious about the private boat to cross from Lombok to Gili or vice versa, you can contact Nara Speedboat.

Lombok Trip Day 2

Cloudy morning didn’t stop us to stick on our plan. First we went to Tanjung Aan beach. Actually, Tanjung Aan is beside Bukit Merese. When we were there, the light rain started to fall. Thanks God the rain only last for 15 mins so we could enjoy the beach! :D
Tanjung Aan beach must be one of your lists if you are planning to have a vacation in Lombok. The white sands and its cleanliness surrounded by turquoise water surely can steal your heart. There is also a swing on the beach. The beach was still not crowded. Even there were only 5 families who also visiting this beach. Unfortunately, there were so many wild dogs here. Some may follow you for food, please be kind and don’t harm them. They were not fierce or grumpy, so you can just shoo them with your voice or simply walk away from them if you don’t like them J While I was there, there was an old western couple who brought a big pack of dog food and feed the dogs. So cute! <3
Then we had lunch at Warung Drifters. We had no idea at all because none of us 4 have ever been to Lombok, so we got this venue from Trip Advisor and thanks to Google. The menu was burger. Since there are so many “bule” (western tourists) in Lombok, then you can find western food here easily.
I ordered crispy burger for lunch. The price is standard, just like the most burgers in Jakarta. There are 2 sizes of the burger: half and full. The full size fits for 2 people and half is for a personal burger. It is also a delicious meal and worth it.

We continued our trip to Kuta Mandalika beach. The sands are bigger than usual and have unique texture. Local people call it "pasir merica".
Kuta Mandalika
There were so many craft seller in Kuta Mandalika. They offered lower price than in souvenir shop, so you may want to buy some here. But when you buy from a woman, the other women will also come to you. I couldn't stand because they were so noisy. You have to be assertive.
Our next destination was Mawun Beach. At first we wanted to go to Mawi beach since the view is very amazing on photo, plus, there was also a beautiful beach near Mawi, named Semeti. But the road also bumpy and poor so our driver didn’t recommend it and he said that we better go to Mawun instead.
To get to Mawun beach, you have to drive to a mountain. The beach is not so clean, you may see trashes along side of the beach. But the water still clear. There are few hills sit which clamp the beach.
Mawun Beach
Not far from Mawun, there was Selong Belanak beach. This place is the heaven for surfers because of the waves, and the coral reefs are rare, so it is safe for surfers or a new one who wants to learn surfing. They provide local surf teacher if you want to learn. As the sun sets, you will see a group of buffaloes across the beach returning to their home.
Buffaloes in Selong Belanak
a western woman pose on the small boat
We had dinner Sate Rembiga in Mataram. Sate rembiga is chicken satay. There is no sauce like satay manado, instead, the spice already cooked together with the satay. I love this satay. It is delicious and the spice seep into the meat.

Tonight we were sleeping in Senggigi because tomorrow we were going to Gili Trawangan.

The inn we were staying was Semilir Senggigi Inn. It is a cheap inn. You may not expect the cleanliness and staffs’ friendliness if you see the price. Well I can say the room is clean and tidy.
The bedroom

At first, a receptionist offered to book taxi for our trip tomorrow morning to Teluk Nara. I was surprised since I didn’t expect it. Of course I accepted her offer. But on the next morning, they hadn’t book any taxi for us so I called taxi by myself. The security felt guilty and he stopped a taxi passed on the street. Another incident was my friend’s towel which was hang on the clothesline gone. It turned out the house keeping washed it because they thought it was the inn’s towel. Eventually, they returned the towel on the next morning.

Lombok Trip Day 1

Hi guys!
I had searched about my next vacation destination, and since I love beach, on 17-20 August 2017 I and 3 of my friends decided to have fun in Lombok!

We took flight on 5 am, so we went to the airport at 2.30 am. Sleepy head but also excited for our holiday! Yey! We already did web check-in yesterday so the check-in process in counter didn’t take long time since we only dropped our baggage.
It took 1 hour and 40 mins flight from Jakarta to Lombok, and time zone in Lombok is GMT+8, an hour faster than Jakarta’s. The aircon on plane was so freezing, perhaps because it was early morning and we passed mountains. After this freezing journey, we were safely arrived in Lombok International Airport.
Soon after we walked out of the arrival hall, the driver whom we already booked came toward us. With a friendly smile and pitch, we expected that he was a good guy. And he was. His name was Dayat. We rent the driver and car from Bagus Travel Lombok. The service was great. Mr. Dayat didn’t speak too much but he always answered our questions and sometimes recommended us to the dining places or where we were going.
Near the airport, there was a local dining place called Nasi Balap Puyung. We already heard about it before. It was famous because their food was great! We took away Nasi Balap Special for our lunch on the beach. Indeed, it was delicious and the price was very affordable. It was steamed rice with chilly shredded chicken, fried chicken, bean, and fried anchovy. You may request with or without additional chilly. We highly recommend this food as it will not disappoint you, trust me ;)
There are 2 options to go to Pink Beach: by road and by boat. We didn’t know that we could be there by boat so we did the first option, which was a hell. The road was very bumpy and so far away. And because of this, we were charged additional rent car fee for another IDR 100k. If you want to go to Pink Beach, you better go there by boat from Tanjung Luar.
It took us 2 hours from airport to Pink Beach. After we arrived there, we were disappoint because the sands were not pink. Really?! I saw on google and everyone said it was pink, but in fact it’s not L so sad. But the view was good and it was deserted. There was a small hill on the left side of the beach which provided breath-taking view.
Not so - Pink Beach
After we finished taking photos and enjoying the beach, we went to hotel in Kuta. We took one night in Origin Lombok Hotel. The trip to the hotel took 2-3 hours. Longer than we expected.
This hotel was located in an alley in Kuta, the road was also poor. Most of the infrastructures in Loombok are inadequate. No street lamps, and many roads still dirt not asphalt.
Origin Lombok has a nice architecture and ambience. The staffs were also friendly. Room was big enough, but the towels were dirty so we didn’t use it.
We relaxed for a moment in the hotel before we continued our trip to Bukit Merese to see sun set. Bukit Merese was located near our hotel. Here, don’t forget to wear your sneakers to climb. The view was amazing! Unfortunately, when the sun set, the weather was cloudy. The sun hid beyond the gloomy clouds.

Sunset in Bukit Merese

For dinner, we were about to go to KRNK cafĂ©. Again, we knew it from Trip Advisor. Lol. But Mr. Dayat didn’t know where it was, he even never had heard it. So he suggested us to dine in Warung Bucu. The signature dish here is Grilled Mahi-mahi. It was a grilled Mahi-mahi fish. Here I just knew that “Mahi-mahi” was a kind of fish! Hahaha. It was served with a yellow-sour-sauce. I didn’t know the name of sauce but I am not a fan of sour dish so I didn’t like it. :p
Overall, the dish is not so delicious. Just average. But the price here is really affordable. You can get grilled mahi-mahi for just IDR 50k. Wines and another alcohol drinks here are also cheap. A glass of red wine only IDR 70k. But wine was not cold.
