Lombok Trip Day 3– Gili Meno and Trawangan

We woke up really early today because we wanted to catch sunrise in Gili Meno. Started to go at 5 am to Teluk Nara. The trip took for half an hour. Then we used Nara Speedboat to cross the sea. The sun rise and we got chance to capture its beauty. In Gili Meno, there were several inns that facing the sea. It seemed so comfortable. Maybe one day I will stay there on vacay :D

Being on Gili, the first thing to do that crossed your mind should be snorkeling! Yupp. We were looking for it but the snorkeling rental were already full. We were walking around the island, looking for something nice. The locals told us to go to the lake. But it was far, and the sun shined really bright at that moment. There were some shits along the way. Eventually we arrived at the lake exhaustedly. The lake was disappointing, it was not good at all if you see it directly, but the photo seems nice. Lol.

Lake in Gili Meno

After we saw the lake, then we decided to move to Gili Trawangan because there was nothing to do in Gili Meno. We walked again with the left energy, and found Bounty Harbour. We rent private boat there. It cost us IDR 320k a boat, after a long negotiation. Their opening price was IDR 400k.
What I learnt in Lombok was, you should make a bid for anything you can bid. Their opening price were not make sense.
Annnddd finally we arrived at Gili Trawangan! Yeay! We could see crowds on the harbor from our boat. They are people who wanted to cross to Bali. Most of the tourists were western. You can see many bean bags along the beach, many western restaurants and hotels. It was very crowd. There was no motor vehicle on the island. Instead, they use Andong (horse with a vessel beyond), bicycle, and horse.
We had lunch at Black Penny Resto. The price is quite expensive maybe because most of the visitors are western. The waitress/waiters are impolite to Indonesian, but very friendly to western tourists. We waited for ages just to ask for menu book and make an order because they didn’t come by our table even after we called them hundred times, but when a western came, waitress immediately serve them and recorded their orders. We came first but had no one came to our table even after the westerns after us made order. I don’t recommend this venue for Indonesian. I mean, I also pay, it’s not that I beg the waitress for some money! This venue sucks.
I left the venue while cursing it. But the air and view of Gili Trawangan reminded me that I’m on vacation, why should a moment ruin my vacation?

We decided to rent bikes which have basket in front of it. We found in a mini market. The owner was an old man. Price is IDR 50,000 all day. It’s fair enough so we didn’t make any bargain.
The thing is, the last time I rid a bike was 8 years a go! But confidently, I said that I can ride a bicycle. Unfortunately, my body didn’t remember how to ride bike. This led to an overwhelming activity. The vehicle I thought can save my time and energy to sightseeing the island turned opposite L I was so tired and the weather was so damn hot! “Why can’t the weather be like this yesterday? Why should now?!” I whispered in my heart. Thanks to my boyfriend he always waited for me while cycling J He stopped when I stopped and faithfully waited for me to ride the bike again. We stopped by a cozy café named The Exile. This café was located on the edge of the beach, before Pandawa Beach. Nothing much we did in Gili Trawangan, just riding our bikes while enjoying the beach view, drank so much water, and finally my main purpose came. It was sunset. We perpetuated this beautiful view at Pandawa Beach with the iconic swing on the water <3

Not to forget to return the bike, we then had our dinner at fish market in the harbor. I ordered 5 chicken satays, 1 squid satay, chilly shredded chicken, and steamed rice just for IDR 45,000. Ah I love this place lol :D

We then had our dinner at fish (night?) market. The prices were sooo affordable a.k.a CHEAP! I had 5 chicken satays + 1 squid satay + chili shredded chicken + steamed rice for only IDR 45,000 and it tasted so damn good!

Already satisfied with the island, we then called our boat to pick us up.
